How to use the Forum hyperlink Edit/Link chain functionality
You are in the act of composing your reply. Let's say you want to direct the customer to the Area-51 R7 Setup and Specifications PDF.
* You enter the following text or any text into the reply box =
The answer to your question can be found in the Area-51 R7 Setup and Specifications PDF.
* You go the the HTML link for the PDF and copy it (https://topics-cdn.dell.com/pdf/alienware-area51-r7_users-guide_en-us.pdf)
* You then highlight the word or words that you want to be hyperlinked, Area-51 R7 Setup and Specifications PDF
* Look up to the tools bar and click the Insert Edit/Link chain icon
* The "Url" is the copied HTML link, paste the copied HTML link
* The "Text to display" is what you previously highlighted, word or phrase
* The "Title" is blank
* The "Target" should be Open in new page
* Then click Ok to finish the hyperlink process
Now the word or words you chose in the "Text to display" are now an active link that opens in a new tab.
You can see after I did this that the phrase above is now an active link that opens a new browser tab.
That looks much better than just pasting the link like this =
